The Wind is Howling
Today is one of those days where the wind feels alive, sweeping through with a wild, untamed energy. It rushes past in gusts, shaking the trees, swirling leaves into little whirlwinds, and carrying the crisp scent of earth. It’s the kind of wind that demands attention—the kind that makes you want to throw your arms out and let it carry your thoughts away.
I stepped outside to drop my son at a friend’s for a fews hours and run some errands and instantly felt invigorated. The air was electric, full of motion, like the whole world was exhaling at once. There’s something freeing about it, like it’s sweeping away old, stagnant energy and making space for something new. Perfect feeling for spring which is incidentally OFFICIALLY happening in FIVE DAYS!!!
I can’t help but wonder what it’s carrying with it—folklore from distant places, the hush of trees swaying together, the murmurs of creeks as they carve their paths, maybe even the whispers of ghosts from long ago. (Or maybe just somebody’s loose grocery receipt, but still.)
How’s the wind treating you today? Have you lost any objects to the great gusts, or are you enjoying the wild energy of it all?
