My everlasting true love… Classic film

Vincent — If you have ever heard of Vincent Price, you probably think, “Oh yeah! He’s that scary guy in that one movie!” Well yes… he is… on film. But in real life, that man was a rollicking lover of life! He published many cook books because he LOVED cooking and eating delicious recipes he’d found all over the world while filming. He was an art historian (Yale grad!), collected art, and helped establish the Vincent Price Art Museum with an emphasis on Native American artists because of his deep appreciation. He believed that every person, regardless of their background, had the right to experience great art and really democratized it. He lent his acting abilities in the 70s and 80s to sell everything from coffee, Tilex, and peanuts to a game for Milton Bradley called the Shrunken Head Apple Sculpture kit. He also spoke out against racial discrimination, was a civil rights activist, and supported a variety of charitable causes, including art programs and health initiatives. He LOVED “rollicoasters” and was a magnificent dad as well as always being a huge animal lover. One of my favorite trivia facts is that during The Abominable Dr. Phibes, he kept ruining his makeup from laughing so much because he was having so much fun. 😂 I’ll get down from my soap box now with one of his most excellent quotes, “A man who limits his interests, limits his life.”
